Nibbert

US Fund - 2012

I adopted him when he was 8 weeks old. I saw an ad in the paper for a free Manx kitten and although it was old, I called anyway. They still had him so I drove about an hour and adopted him –they had told me he was a girl NOT!!! After he was home for about 2 weeks my orange Tabby Manx-- Fat Cat got out and someone had hit her right in front of my house I sure do miss her. Nibbert had been sneezing for a day maybe three, so I took him to the vet they wanted to do some tests on him. He was diagnosed with FIV. The vet told me I ought to put him to sleep. I left that clinic and never went back. I went back to my old vet, whom I should have gone to in the first place. Dr Pearson at Micanopy Animal Hospital is the one who did the surgery today, she was great. That was 3 & 1/2 years ago. I wouldn't part with him for anything in the world.

Surgery today! YAY! Nibbert is doing great... he had 7 teeth pulled - a lot less than anticipated so less bill, less pain. After he is healed he should be able to eat just like before. He will be on the interferon & mouth rinse for the rest of his life. The clavamox & pain medicine for a little while longer but all in all not as bad as expected. None of this would be possible if it wasn’t for Brown Dog Foundation. I want to thank you for everything from the bottom of my heart... now my baby will be pain free and have a much better chance to live longer!!
