Climbing High in Colorado

Little Jasmine is Ready to Run!

How’s a nine-year-old Chihuahua with a torn ACL going to navigate the steps at home, let alone conquer the mighty mountains of Colorado? That’s all Shelly from Colorado could think about after her vet confirmed her pup Jasmine’s injury.

Shelly was experiencing financial challenges when Jasmine received her diagnosis, and her vet recommended she contact Brown Dog Foundation for help.

Shelly applied for help through the website and worked out a plan with the VetBilling Repayment Program to secure funds for Jasmine’s surgery. While life-threatening medical issues are prioritized before ACL problems for Brown Dog Foundation, Shelly’s commitment to the Repayment Program allowed Brown Dog to ensure Jasmine got the help she needed.

Shelly said Jasmine is improving every day. “I love my Jasmine, and I'd do anything for her,” Shelly said. “If I could hug each person who is part of Brown Dog, I would. No one would help me, but Brown Dog did. Jasmine and I send our love."

Jasmine received assistance through the VetBilling Repayment Program which means her mom will repay the grant over time, making it possible for Brown Dog, Jasmine, and Shelly to help another family in the future.
