Success Stories

Tito belonged to my old roommate about 4 years ago. I actually did not plan to get a dog, she just showed up one day with Tito. His big old eyes and big dumbo ears won me over pretty fast, and he took a liking to me immediately. 

He was 5 when he was adopted from the shelter, and we know very little of his story, but he ended up coming with me after my roommate and I split ways, as he had grown significantly more attached to me and I to him. He's come a long way since then, but he's still wary of strangers. He's a very protective little old man, but once he warms up to you, you'll be pals forever just as he is with my best friend and boyfriend! He's my little sour patch kid and I wouldn't have it any other way. 

Due to finances I'd taken too long to bring him to the vet, and then the pandemic hit and the world stopped turning. During the pandemic I noticed his breath got pretty stinky and once we were allowed, I began taking him to the groomers to get brushed, washed, and his teeth cleaned. Unfortunately when I was finally able to take him to the vet we came to find out he has already lost some teeth and needs quite a bit of dental work, some removal of teeth and cleaning of the rest of them. I'm a student and working full time, but it's just Tito and me. 

I don't have much help or family to ask this kind of money from, so I started seeking foundations to help me at least with a fraction of the cost. Brown Dog Foundation was the only one who pulled through for me, and thanks to them I didn't have to post pone his surgery or lose my mind trying to figure out how in the world I was going to come up with such a high amount in a short amount of time! Everyone else turned me away, but not Brown Dog Foundation and for that I am eternally grateful!! Tito and I are very fortunate and grateful for all your help! Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

 

Tito was a recipient of the VetBilling Repayment Plan. His parents will pay for the treatment Tito required over time.
