as told by her family
Disaster Relief Fund, provided in part by Intervet/Scherring-Ploug and FarmVet.com
Pippi came to our family in July of 2003. She was found along the road by my husband's co-worker. She was thin, scared and flea-infested. After checking with all the vets in that area and receiving no response to "Dog Found" posters she was passed along to us. We took her home for one night to "try her out" and kept her! How could we not? She is the sweetest dog we've ever known and now a beloved member of our family.
Our home was flooded in May of this year (2010) and Pippi made it out with us riding in one of my daughters' backpack. Her medications - Frontline and Heartgard - were lost in the waters. A few weeks after the flood I called our vet's office - Harpeth Hills Animal Hospital- to see if they had any assistance to replace these costly medications. The tech graciously told me about the Brown Dog Foundation and encouraged me to fill out the application for assistance. We received a 3 month supply of flea/tick medication and a 6 month supply of heartworm medication for Pippi through the Foundation. What a huge help that was to us during a very stressful time. Thank you so much!
