Top Dog & Cat Nominations Now OPEN!

Nominations for Tennessee's Top Dog & Top Cat are open until February 28, 2012.  You may nominate your own pet, or a friend's.  Please provide all information requested.

The Top Dog & Cat Competition is a 10-week fundraising campaign where Candidates are vying for the title of Top Dog and Top Cat.  The Candidates, at the end of 10-weeks with the most "votes" win the crown of Top Dog and Top Cat, as well as amazing prizes!

To earn votes, each Candidate will leverage their contacts, both personal and professional, to raise money.  Candidates may use whatever resources they choose - a donation box located in a high-traffic retail location, a letter-writing campaign, email campaign with access to online giving through a personal web-page, host an event, a "Dress Down" project at your workplace or simply write a BIG check.

Candidates who accept their nomination will attend an Orientation Meeting at a location to be determined.  This meeting will educate the Candidates about Brown Dog's mission, the "rules" of the campaign and gives everyone an opportunity to meet each other.

We ask each Candidate to commit to raising at least $300, but to win, the sky is the limit!  We expect 30 or more candidates from across the state to participate in this event.  The Top Dog and Top Cat will be crowned at the Coronation Pawty on June 4th.  During the Pawty, Candidates may enter up to 5 auction items to earn last-minute "votes" equal to the value for which the item sells.  Candidates will also sell Coronation Pawty tickets and receive credit on their campaign total for each ticket sold.

Last year's winners were Billy Lane, Top Dog (he raised more than $2,000) and One Eyed Willie Tallier, Top Cat (he raised more than $1,500).  The event expects to raise $30,000 this year and to host at least 200 people at our Coronation Pawty!  The Coronation Pawty is hosted by Tom Randles, WSMV-Channel 4.
Dates & locations to be determined.
