Families in Temporary Financial Crisis

LIFE-SAVING TREATMENT
LIFE-THREATENING DIAGNOSTICS
LIFE-SUSTAINING PRESCRIPTION MEDICATIONS

When it rains it pours...  Where does the average American family turn during times of crisis?  These are changing economic times...  while the national poverty level is still set very low ($10,000 for a single person), the reality is that a high percentage of Americans are barely able to get by on an income less than $25,000.  Those families that are lucky enough to rely on two incomes may sneak by on $50,000, but with 3 or more children to feed, clothe and provide medical care for...  well, that sizable income disappears rapidly.

Job loss often flows into subsequent underemployment...  loss of home to fire or a natural disaster often leads to years of going without vacations and other frivolities in order to rebuild...  and if a medical emergency or life-threatening diagnosis occurs to someone in the family, it surely means bankruptcy.

There is no where for an average American family to turn when things go wrong.  But, when these realisms are compounded by the sickness or accidental injury of the family pet - the decisions are impossible.

  • Feed my family, or pay for surgery to remove my dog's tumor?
  • Buy gasoline for job interviews or save my cat's life?
  • Direct the precious resource of my time to helping my pet get well, or continue rebuilding our lives?
Brown Dog Foundation aims to reduce one burden - we help provide the care needed to save your pet's life so you can stay focused on the things that are most important to keeping your family's basic needs met.  Families who have received our assistance are generally back on track in their lives very quickly.

If you've experienced a temporary financial setback at the same time your pet needs life-saving treatment or life-sustaining prescription medications, reach out to us!  If your case is approved we pay up to 75% of the cost for treatment (does not include prescription medications), and you are responsible for only 25%.
