Success Stories

Gaston

CA - 2022

I wanted to express my appreciation to Brown Dog Foundation and say that my husband and I are so grateful for the help that they have given us by bridging our financial gap to my dog Gaston‘s surgery.

Gaston had a tumor in his mouth and it needed to be removed. My husband and I are in a really financially tight space right now and we’re not able to afford the surgery. So our Vet referred us to Brown Dog Foundation. The Grant Manager was in touch with me every step of the way and we were given a Grant to help save our dog's life.

Gaston François is a little Chiweenie who came into my husband and my life 10 years ago. He was a rescue from Tijuana and was living on the streets for two years. When he came to us he was a bit gun shy to say the least. He would snap and was so scared and this would reactive his fears.

We did a lot of training with him and gave him tons of love and to say that he is now the sweetest boy in the whole world would be an understatement. When we found out he had cancer it was devastating... I cried for about five days straight. We cannot even imagine a life without this boy. He’s given us love and trust from the moment we adopted him.

My husband and I don’t have children and my husband is a disabled Veteran who has a lot of PTSD. Gaston has been a huge source of relief for my husband and for me as well. To say that we are grateful for what Brown Dog has provided us is an understatement.

He is the bright spot in our lives.
With so much love and gratitude,
Jeanice
