Disaster Relief Fund, 2011
Anniken's mom is a single, self-sufficient woman whose home was devastated by a tornado during the May 2010 Flood in Nashville. She was forced to move out of her home during repairs which more than doubled her expenses. Anniken has Glaucoma. For six months her doctors have tried high doses of medication in hopes of controlling the advancement of her Glaucoma. Her level of pain had increased substantially over the past few months so it was becoming more necessary for Anniken to have her eye removed.
Surgery by a specialist would have cost Brown Dog nearly $800. And, unfortunately, our funding resources are low. Upon hearing that, Dr. Marc Smith at Natchez Trace Veterinary Services offered to perform the surgery for substantially less so that Anniken's mom would not have to struggle to pay her portion of the bill. BIG thanks to Dr. Smith and his generosity!
