Road Dog Rides On!
Annie's Got her Groove Back

In 2009, Maygun, a dog lover in Texas, happened upon a precious pooch at the pet store where she worked. A Lhasa-Poo had called the store home for too long, and Maygun found her heart falling for the little girl who desperately wanted and needed a family.

So Annie came home with Maygun and a loving relationship blossomed. Maygun says adopting Annie was the best decision she has ever made and has transformed her life and those of her family.

“She has been my road dog since day one,” Maygun says. “We've traveled the country together and like to go on long walks and hikes.” Annie loves to play with her sister Dakota and enjoys barking, playing chuck-it, and of course, treats of all kinds!

When Maygun and her vet discovered that Annie had a tumor in 2022, Maygun was experiencing temporary financial challenges. She reached out to Brown Dog Foundation for help with funding Annie’s surgery through the VetBilling Repayment Program. “This life-saving surgery would not have been possible without Brown Dog’s assistance,” Maygun says. “The grant manager was extremely helpful and accommodating throughout the entire process. They truly cared about Annie and her well-being and made sure everything was approved in a timely fashion so she could get her surgery ASAP.”

Keep on rocking, riding, and ruffing road dog Annie! It’s stories like these that keep us trucking along.

Annie received assistance through the VetBilling Repayment Program which means her mom will repay the grant over time, making it possible for Brown Dog, Annie, and Maygun to help another family in the future.
